Torbay Camp Activity: Handy Knots for Camping, hiking and home (Members Only)


This is a hands-on for adults and children to get up to speed with useful knots. Participants are encouraged to bring piece(s) of rope, eg Grunt 3ΓΈ x 20m Rope from Bunnings as this is a hands-on activity. There is a Bunnings in Albany or please buy in Perth. 


We will learn how to,

  • String up a ridge line to set up a tarp shelter.
  • Finish a rope with Figure-8.
  • Hang your food bag in the air to keep it away from animals: PCT Bear Hang.
  • Tie a shoelace that won't come undone whilst hiking.
  • Guy a line without hardware
  • How to roll up your rope.

  • Figure-8
